I really enjoy these bags in my new Hoover Platinum vacuum cleaner. MUCH more room than a bagless. I can do my whole house 3200 sq. ft. without once changing or emptying anything - and not just once either. Which means MUCH MUCH less dust floating around me. What this bag takes in, it KEEPS. I really can not see a single piece of dust coming out of this vacuum cleaner.
Lest you think I don't HAVE dust, I have a chocolate lab that produces it's weight every 10 days in shed hair, and a son that is learning to cook. I also live in Texas, so everything aquires a fine patina around here. *smiles*
The bags seem expensive, although Amazon is the cheapest we have found them. It is worth it to me to be able to keep going when my energy is up enough to vacuum, and for the lack of post vacuum dust that remains.

They collect dust! A little expensive, but they definitely don;t let fine particulate through the bag, and that is important!

I was very excited about getting this vacumm because the reviews were so good. I have a hip and foot problem so vacumming is difficult. (No I'm not old but fractured my heel which through off my hip). In two of my rooms I have a very thick semi-shag and with this vacuum it is very hard to push. I end up using both hands to push and pull it. On the other hand it works wonderful on area rugs, tile and hardwood. So I went back to my self-propelled Hoover, which breaks frequently might I add, once it got back from the repair shop and use the Platium only on the above mentioned. It has great suction and lifts the pile well on all the carpets but what I have been using the most is the little hand-held vacumm that came with it in place of having the tools on board. This helps lighten the weight of the main vacumm. I use it to sweep my kitchen floor in between the normal vacumming, to clean my car, for any quick job. Overall I was pretty satisfied with everything. My only suggestion would be to improve its performance on the heaver carpets.

I used mine for over five months before I had to replace it - not because it was full, but because the air the vacuum was expelling was no longer fresh. (I assume that very fine particles of dust had clogged the bag preventing it from filtering properly.) I used the canister to vacuum out the inside and the bottom of the upright, replaced the bag, and it began filtering like new again. Now I use the canister to vacuum out the bottom of the upright on a regular basis, and replace the bag whenever the exhaust is no longer fresh. The 4 for 3 promotion makes this an excellent item to buy on Amazon.
