Product Description Hoover Widepath Tempo Upright
Amazon.com Review The Tempo WidePath features a 15-inch cleaning path for super fast vacuuming when you need it the most. Plus, the WidePath cleans indoor air while you vacuum, thanks to an innovative allergen filtration system that traps 100 percent of dust mites, 99.98 percent of ragweed, and common grass pollens for cleaner breathing and fresher air. A powerful, 12 amp motor provides ample suction and doesn't leave anything behind. Onboard tool storage keeps attachments, such as a dusting brush, furniture nozzle, crevice tool, and two extension wands in close reach. A smaller profile (approximately 33-1/4 by 18-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches) and lighter overall weight makes the Tempo WidePath easy to push, and easier to maneuver around and under furniture, too. And, your purchase is covered by a Hoover one-year warranty. Get a Tempo WidePath, and never get behind on the housework again! --Brian Olson

Great vacuum for the money March 10, 2010 Mom to Three (Richland, WA USA) You could say dirty floors are my pet peeve. With that stated, I also say this vacuum is a great value. I have had this vacuum for about 8 months and now use it as my main push vacuum (I also use a Roomba). It is easy to maneuver, cleans the carpet well, and is lightweight enough to use on stairs. In addition to the Hoover Tempo and Roomba, I also have a 15 year old Hoover WindTunnel which is too heavy for me to use on stairs and a 6 year old Kenmore Elite Canister vacuum (rated a best buy in Consumer Reports when I purchased it) which does not pick up dust and dirt as well as this Hoover Tempo. I have a lot of tile in my home. The Hoover Tempo tends to sling as much of the dust and dirt as it picks up when I run it on the tile. So I use the Roomba instead. As a busy mom, I do delegate chores to my kids. Vacuuming is one of the easier chores I delegate. My kids tend to be rough on vacuums. My Kenmore Elite Canister vacuum has been "broken" by my son several times - requiring several hours of repair by a disgruntled husband. This Hoover Tempo however has been used by my kids since we got it and is still working perfectly. The cord is a little shorter than most and that can be a nuisance. I either change electrical sockets frequently or add and extension cord. Problem solved.
Great vacuum March 10, 2010 T. Wills (high desert of California) Very powerful suction, easy to use, probably identical in quality to much more expensive machines. The tools are convenient, the cord is long, even the switch is convenient. A really great deal.
Great vacuum March 10, 2010 alphabet shopper (Highland Park, IL, US) Very powerful vacuum -- better than vacuums costing more than twice as much. Accessories all stored on vacuum for very easy access. Accessory hose permanently attached to vacuum for easy switching between upright vacuuming and vacuuming with nozzles. I am so satisfied with this vacuum, that I have bought 4 of these over the last year for myself and various family members.
Hoover Tempo Widepath Vacuum U5140-900 March 10, 2010 Jack B. Holt Consumer Reports gave this machine a high rating. Ordered it from Amazon for a good price. It actually arrived the next day!
Fantastic March 10, 2010 H. Frazier (CA) Light, easy to use, excellent suction. This little vacuum was faced with a large first task- cleaning 5 years worth of dirt out of the livingroom carpet. (This is what happens when you move into an apartment inhabited by college males for such a long time). It made the room ridiculously cleaner in one pass, and only started to have some slight issues after moving on t, o the bedroom. It wasn't picking up any more dirt. However, on investigating the bag, it was because it had gotten so much dirt up from the previous carpet that there just wasn't any room left in the bag. Needless to say, I was impressed with this vacuum's cleaning power. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the hose is somewhat difficult to use. It isn't quite long enough to reach everywhere easily (although the vacuum is light enough that it isn't a huge deal to just pick it up) and conflicts with the path of the cord when wrapped. As for the sound- I saw complaints about this vacuum being very loud before buying it, and was somewhat concerned by this... but the people who have complained must have had stealth vacuums, as this isn't any noisier than any other vacuum I've ever used.
