The belt broke AGAIN!! July 22, 2010 Yeshua Ronia Right after the belt breaking might not be a good time to rate this..., or maybe it is. At the rate we are going through belts on this machine, I'm not inclined to buy this vacuum again when we need to replace it. Granted - the vacuum is getting old and beat up. Perhaps it is something wrong there. The height adjustment doesn't seem to work right. It adjusts some, but not significantly. Maybe that is the problem. Whatever it is, is frustrating! The belts cost too much and last too little. If they don't break, they stretch. Either way, with a broken or stretched belt, the vacuum doesn't work.
Not the real thing July 16, 2010 rojas683 The belts that I received are not Eureka originals rather a generic brand and they do not work as well. They are slightly bigger and so they fit loose on the vac. I have already had to use 2 of them because the first one slipped off and burnt. Not happy with my purchase.
One day you will need this item July 4, 2010 G. Harcourt (San Antonio Texas) The belts fit - as one would expect. The price was "right" and the delivery was on time. When your vacuum cleaner's belt breaks the machine no longer will pull up the debris. The belts do wear out - so buy a pack and have the spare on hand for that inevitable time.
poor quality - high price June 26, 2010 george spelvin (michigan) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Generic belt came without Eureka packaging as shown in ad. It's just some aftermarket belt with a high price tag applied. I found a 2 pack of the same belt for 1/2 the price. Watch out for these Amazon 'deals'. Seems they've got into the 'screw your customers if you can' mentality, regardless of how small the screwing is. One more thing. The item took 13 days to arrive.
Surprised how easy it is to break a belt June 20, 2010 Michael R. Williams (Houston, Texas USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use my vacuum most commonly on a room that has indoor/outdoor carpet. So the height adjustment is one or two notches away from bare floor. With this adjustment the very first time I used the vacuum I broke a belt!!! I believe it resulted from putting the vacuum back in the upright locked position while the vacuum was still on and the brush was still spinning. Doing this seems to put a great amount of stress on the brush spinning process. Therefore causing the belt to snap! I would suggest ALWAYS turning the vacuum off before putting it in the upright locked position. Just in case I forget, I bought two more belts!
